The Talbot is situated
in the centre of the pretty village of Iwerne
Minster on the main A350 between the Georgian town
of Blandford and
the ancient hilltop town of Shaftesbury in Dorset.
The south coast with the towns of Bournemouth, Poole
and Weymouth is only a
short drive away. We are spoilt for choice
when it comes to places of interest as these include
the Larmer Tree Gardens, Stourhead Gardens, the
Dorset Steam Fair, Compton Abbas airfield and Ashley
Wood golf course, to name but a few. If you
enjoy exploring the open countryside there are some
lovely walks nearby - including a climb to the top
of the ancient hill forts of Hambledon and Hod -
this should sharpen your appetite for lunch or
dinner! The pub has a traditional exterior and
contemporary interior including open log fires. There is a relaxed and informal
dining atmosphere with meals being served in the
dining room, the bars or outside on the heated
terrace. Our reputation is such that a large
proportion of our clientele travel from afar
to dine with us, but we also have our regular locals
who often take refuge in one of our bars - the
village bar - our snug!
The Talbot will delight those in search of
award-winning food, good drink and superior accommodation. Come and try us out soon. |
