The Somerset Hotel
is a corner pub situated five
minutes from the centre of Weymouth and close to the beach and railway
station. This traditional British pub was last refurbished in November 2006
and has stately high ceilings and a mirror backed bar. There is
rumoured to be a ghostly presence in the pub as strange things are known
to happen, such as lights going on etc! We were famous in the 1970's for being a biker's pub.
Each year we take part in the World War II veterans awareness week which culminates in
a Remembrance service and parade. Many of the veterans visit the Somerset Hotel
during the week long event in June. This is an ideal location for exploring the Dorset coastline
and we offer modern, homely accommodation for visitors to the area who
do just that.
Dorset CAMRA, visit the pub and John and Sue are working towards getting
an entry in the Good Beer Guide. This is a high quality Hall &
Woodhouse Pub where the real ale is served to perfection and the food
delicious. Come along soon and try this fantastic pub.
