 The
New Queen is an
old building named after Queen Victoria, situated halfway between
Ringwood and Christchurch in the small village of Avon. This
destination venue was extended in 2004 and refurbished in October 2008
and it is now twice the size of the original building. There is a
fresh look with a leather sofa and two arm chairs plus two butchers
tables which are used mostly by drinkers. Inside is open plan with
no separate dining room, leaded windows, a real fire and a gas log
burner. The extension was very sympathetically done keeping it as
a traditional English country pub with original beams and features.
It is virtually impossible to tell the old part from the new.
There are three entrances, plus double doors out onto the decking area.
We are happy to serve meals outside and this is very popular during the
summer. We offer high quality food, freshly prepared and cooked to
order, which is served from a main menu with coeliac and children's
menus available. The riverside garden is
extensive and the outdoor children's play area with
its slide and tyres can be seen from the decking
area and part of the garden, so you can relax and
enjoy the peace of the moment. Come and try
this warm, friendly country pub in the near future. |
