The
Mitre is a friendly, easy-going pub
located on the High Street, next to the old church in the small
historic town of Shaftesbury, which is famous, more recently, as a
backdrop for the 'Hovis' adverts. Dating back to 1711 this
listed building has tremendous views from the back of the pub,
overlooking the Black Moor Vale. The gorgeous three tier
decking area is somewhere you can sit to relax and take in the
view whilst enjoying a drink, meal or snack. Inside is just as
welcoming with two open fireplaces, a traditional style bar and
three separate areas. A mixture of people from locals to
tourists and shoppers visit us and enjoy the laid back
environment, which is that of a relaxed country pub. Quality
food can be enjoyed from our own menu, offering a range of freshly
prepared, cooked to order dishes, using locally sourced produce
wherever possible. Our Sunday Roast lunches are not to be
missed, with home cooked trimmings and fresh seasonal vegetables
alongside mouth-watering superb roast meats. If its a good
friendly pub you're looking for, where you can enjoy conversation and a quality real
ale or a fantastic meal, why not try the Mitre soon.
