The King’s Head is an imposing 200-year-old hotel, standing right on the town square, in the heart of the local community and the beautiful town of Wimborne Minster. With its high ceilings and large windows, sofas and comfortable armchairs, The King’s Head has a light, elegant, airy feel, reminiscent of a bygone era. There are lots of old photographs, some over a hundred years old, of the hotel, its development and of the old town, all adding to the feel and quality of this lovely building.

We offer a range of dining experiences from lighter bar meals to sophisticated a la carte meals. Our chefs provide a range of freshly prepared meals including a variety of traditional British favourites in addition to a selection of innovative and interesting dishes. Daily changing house Specials compliment the core menu. From tasty main courses such as 'Pan-seared Barbary Duck Breast served with Blackberry & Vintage Port sauce' to light bar snacks such as 'Hand-carved Norfolk Ham & Free Range Eggs', whichever you choose, your taste buds will be satisfied.

A welcome fit for a King awaits you at The Kings Head, whether you choose to dine with us or stay longer with all 27 en-suite bedrooms tastefully furnished to a high standard. You could even choose to rest the night in a four-poster bedroom! The hotel is dedicated to Henry VII, the first Tudor monarch who, by defeating Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth Field, brought the Wars of the Roses to an end. With new decor, fixtures and fittings, we have new wooden flooring and carpeting. The back section and bar area have been opened up to create a larger, brighter seating area. Most of our seating now is relaxed with bucket seats and sofas so you can enjoy a quiet drink alone or have a meal with friends. For those desiring a more secluded meal, the restaurant is an ideal choice. It can also be booked for private functions of up to 30 people. Our friendly staff will make your dining experience or overnight stay a very pleasurable and memorable one.
