The Black Horse dates
back to the early 1900s and was originally the stables to a
large farm. Traditionally decorated, this
smart, attractive venue with its picket fence and
hanging baskets has wooden beams and all types of horse
artefacts from 'the bit to the saddle', in keeping
with it's original purpose. Today, this is now a
family run business which is taking care to serve
quality homemade food, including a delicious Sunday
roast along with frequent interesting special offers.
We serve a range of quality beers, ales, wines and
a selection of soft drinks. This is a child
friendly pub where we encourage families to dine with us.
Set in the small but busy village of Sturminster
Marshall we are pleased to see our regular locals but also
tourists and day trippers. Anyone on their travels
to Poole will pass us. We are close to
Wimborne and eight miles from the beach at Sand
Banks. Whether you are on your
way to or from the beach we are perfect for taking
in a drink or meal so be sure to call in next time
