DINING AT THE ACORN COACHING
INN
Here at the Acorn Inn we aim to
source our food within a twenty five mile radius. This is not
always possible and sometimes we go further afield, but we only
source the finest produce. Our chef, Justin MacKenzie, has
retained our AA rosette for the fifth year, this award
recognises the use of quality produce prepared and served to a
high standard. We have also been awarded the RAC Blue Ribbon for
our food. Please feel free to ask any member of staff if you
have any questions about the menu.

The Acorn Coaching Inn is set in the very picturesque village of Evershot, in the heart
of Hardy country (known as the Sow and Acorn in Tess of the d'Uberviles).
Built in the 16th Century, The
Acorn Coaching Inn has been restored to its former glory by the current owners. Originally
known as The Kings Arms, it once brewed its own ales with water drawn
from the source of the River Frome. All
the original charm and character of 400 years exudes from the beamed
bars and log fires that greet guests on arrival. Nestling among the
rolling hills in an area of outstanding beauty and close to the British
Heritage Coastline, you have the perfect base for exploring or walking.
The ten en suite bedrooms are individually decorated and have their own
style and character, each taking a name from Hardy's "Tess of the
d'Urbervilles". Now with oak paneled
bars, stone and wood floors, Ham Stone fireplaces adorned with carved Acorns, a
wide selection of prints and water colours and cosy furnishings.
Head Chef Justin MacKenzie sources many of the ingredients
locally, using the finest produce available. Retaining our has
retained our AA rosette for the fifth year, we have added an RAC blue
ribbon for our food. Here you will find a warm welcome and friendly and
efficient
service. The Village bar is frequented by people of all ages who want to
come in for a drink and perhaps listen to the juke box, or
play pool in the games room. Alternatively relax in the Hardy bar
and enjoy from our selection of malt whiskeys, Almanacs, or even Vintage Port. Located 1 mile off A37 Yeovil - Dorchester
road or 4 miles off A356 Crewkerne - Maiden
Newton Road.
