REDEVELOPMENT & UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT |
We had an extensive
refurbishment mid 2006 to create a completely new stylish, contemporary
look. Yvan & Faye took over at that time and have made it the success it
is today.
Why not check out our new cocktail bar open Thursday - Saturday evening
and also available for private hire. |

DINING AT THE
ODDFELLOWS
Traditional food with a
21st Century twist.
All our food is freshly prepared in-house, down to our own
sauces & pasta, in our open kitchen. We use as much locally produced
food as possible and use only free range meats. Using
local sustainable fish as much as we can, we don't have cod on
the menu, but offer something a bit different and more
plentiful. The main menu changes every quarter and we have a regularly
changing Specials board which allows chef to express himself. |

The Oddfellows is a stone's throw away from Exeter's
main shopping centre. This is a very friendly unpretentious gastro
style pub, with a sociable, down to earth
atmosphere. Throughout the day it is more of a café style bar, offering
the best coffees in town, and becomes a gastro eating house during the evening. The
clientele are a
lovely mix of people from all backgrounds, from students to business people
with the older generation popping in for a nice lunch. Redeveloped in 2006,
it is unrecognizable from the former pub which was dark and dingy.
Faye and Yvan took over, refurbished and made it into the success it is today. The
building is Victorian and we still have the original 19th Century
conservatory. Broken up into smaller areas, it has a classy eclectic interior
with lots of character, including a cosy snug area, leather chesterfield
sofas and rustic style furnishings. Local art work is displayed around
the pub and this includes work from Tom Hurley, a local photographer and art by artist
Shelly Newton, these are also for sale. Our open kitchen
enables you to watch your food being cooked. Gastro style pub food is served daily
and dishes are traditional but given a
modern twist. We serve much fresh fish which is sustainable, as opposed
to cod or other over-fished types. We are proud to make everything on
site from scratch down to our own pasta, sourcing as much food locally as
possible. We can also say we are child friendly, which many of the bars
around town are not. Here you can enjoy a conversation without having to
shout. We don’t generally show Sport on our TV but instead screen quirky
black and whites and films of the 60's and 70's. Our upstairs bar
underwent a full refurbishment in June 2008, and is now a fantastic cocktail
bar, which can also be hired out for private parties! Come and visit this super venue very soon.
