Situated just seven miles West of Exeter, close to the A30,
the Kings Arms Inn is a
traditional thatched Devon pub which dates back to the 1600's. One
of the many hostelries of the time found on the main routes
connecting major cities and towns, this Inn has
provided weary travellers with good food and ale for all of the
four centuries it has been standing. Until after the Civil
War, this venue was known as ‘The Taphouse Inn'.
Today you will find a quality establishment, offering fine food prepared
from freshly sourced local produce wherever possible, with a variety
of dishes from the classic sausage and mash to pan seared Barbury
duck breast. Our
carvery is very popular, serving every Sunday and also Tuesday and
Thursday out of season. Inside, a cosy fire awaits you in the winter
and outside there is a secluded garden for the summertime, complete with
a children's
play area. This allows parents space to enjoy some relaxing refreshment in
peace. The BBQ area is utilised throughout the summer with
super hog roasts when the weather permits. For those who
have travelled a distance there are six comfortable double
en suite letting rooms to prolong your stay with us. These
are furnished to a
high standard, two with luxury four posters, all at very reasonable rates. To see
the full history of The Kings Arms and view our
menus please visit our own website, see above.
