Cherub Inn PhotoThe Cherub Inn & Restaurant is a Grade II listed building, the oldest in Dartmouth, dating back to 1380.  Located in the heart of town, the building was bombed during the second world war and left virtually derelict.  Despite this it was lovingly restored by a Mr Cresswell Mullett in 1958.  Since then it has undergone many changes, including being a private members club in the 1960's, before it's present use as an Inn and Restaurant started in the 1970's.  It has managed to retain many features from the original building including its old ships' timbers.  Set on two levels, the upper floor maintains two restaurants with a total of 36 covers and a galley style kitchen with a further 20 seats.  Downstairs, the entrance leads into the bar area, with a beer cellar below that.  Home cooked, quality food is served, all freshly prepared and cooked to order.  Choices range from more traditional dishes such as peppered steak pudding to Eastern influenced dishes.  Our speciality is fresh seafood, with a range of seasonal fish and other specials available daily.  Alongside this we offer a selection of lighter snacks.  Cask ales are a favourite, with our own Cherub Best brewed especially for us.  With a welcoming friendly atmosphere, we are a great venue for the whole family.  A warm welcome awaits.
