Our menu is made up of traditional pub cuisine and chef’s unique specialities – simple flavours combined to make delicious dishes; all made fresh onsite every day by our talented team of chefs, using the best ingredients. George’s Tradition’s first class fish and chips have been locally renowned for years, and now we’ve applied all we know about producing consistent high quality to every other dish that has been specially created for the Thorn Tree’s menu.
There’s no dish on our menu that we’d recommend over another. They’re all equally delicious, offering quality, taste and value.
We buy our ingredients based on quality, guided by our ethics and morals. All of our fish is from sustainable sources, and our meat is from a good local supplier. And we only ever serve free range chicken - happy chickens taste so much better.

This venue is conveniently located at Woodlinkin in Derbyshire, on the A610 – the main road between Ambergate and Nottingham. Recently renovated in Summer 2010, this pub has a contemporary yet sophisticated and traditional feel, equally welcoming to families, groups and couples. The reclaimed wood and stone flooring, open fires and subtle lighting all combine to give a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. We try and cater for all tastes on our menu and also provide regular offers. All our fish is from sustainable sources, our meat is from a good local supplier and we only ever serve free range chicken because happy chickens taste so much better. Outside, the terrace and landscaped garden with stunning views make this the perfect place to relax when the weather permits. On the occasion when we have glorious sunshine, there’s no nicer place to be with a chilled glass of wine or beer. Whilst you relax our younger visitors can wear themselves out in the children’s play area.
