Old Club House PhotoThe Old Club House is a lovely big traditional pub situated opposite the Opera House near the centre of Buxton.  As the name implies, until about the mid 1980's it was a men only, gentleman's club.  Today this is an idyllic place to come for a quality meal or a choice drink with friends or family.  There is a separate dining room, although you can eat anywhere in the pub and the excellent service and food is provided in a relaxed and comfortable setting.  There is a good base of regular locals who are joined by tourists, passing trade and theatre goers who call in before and after the show.  During July and August the road outside is closed to traffic, the tables are put out and the function room becomes a theatre!  We are very much part of the Buxton Festival which takes place each summer.  If you are looking for a venue which is just out of the ordinary and is noted for its daily roast dinners and fine real ales, then you have found it at the Old Club House!

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
