This purpose built Tudor style pub, first opened in 1999 is situated on a Retail Park in Chesterfield.  The Hobby Horse was fully refurbished to a high standard with a contemporary new style in December 2007, with new fixtures and fittings including flooring, upholstery and bar, the look is stunning.  The neutral colour scheme of chocolate browns and creams, along with comfortable seating in the bar area including bucket seats and sofas, make it feel like home from home.  There is even a fire in the snug area.  You can relax alone or with friends with a refreshing cold drink or just a cup of fresh coffee and maybe take advantage of our free wireless internet access.  Dining is available throughout the pub with the 250 cover restaurant having separate adult areas and family areas.  Our main menu offers an extensive range of dishes with a fantastic Two for One deal allowing you to simply order two adult main meals and get the cheapest one free.  You may want to sample our pie of the day or pudding of the day, if you have room for it!!  Family friendly - we have both indoor play building and outside play area. Our indoor facility, a Fun House has masses of games and equipment for children under 4ft 9ins tall.  This guarantees fun for hours!  Outside the older children have use of a very safe play area.  A warm friendly welcome, quality food and drink, excellent facilities and a contemporary feel, makes the Hobby Horse an extremely popular venue with everyone.
