Crewe & Harpur pub, Swarkestone, Derby.Crewe & Harpur is a converted 17th Century Coaching House situated on the edge of the city of Derby between the medieval villages of Swarkestone and Melbourne, near Cork Abbey.  It is ideally located for business travellers and tourists alike having easy links to the M1, M42, A38 and A50.  There are good access routes to Ashbourne, Alton Towers, Donnington Park Race Track, The Peak District and Denby Pottery, to name but a few as well as being only a few miles from East Midlands Airport.  This special pub, the only one in our village, has slate quarry flooring and parquet flooring in some areas plus some nooks and crannies for private conversation.  There are two fires, one in the bar and some areas are quite modern.  The adjoining stable block has been converted to provide accommodation in the form of seven en-suite letting rooms which are all very nicely decorated. This very friendly venue has a relaxed atmosphere and welcomes many parties of ladies, single diners and couples along with the local regulars.  The pub serves cooked food all day and is the perfect place to unwind after a hard day at work or exploring the beautiful Peak District.  Our selection of hot meals includes pub classics and a constantly changing selection of Specials.  We have a range of specially selected wines along with cask ales and a choice of soft drinks, tea and coffee.  Outside the Beer garden overlooks the River Trent.  Come and see us soon.
