Turks Head Photo

Under new ownership in 2004 The Turks Head is attractive and olde worlde inside and out.  The first pub in Alston, it is two pubs in one.  There is a traditional drinking bar at the front of the pub, and for families or diners a very pleasant, welcoming lounge bar to the back with real log fires.  Food is served from an extensive menu which cannot be beaten.  A lot of the the dishes are homemade, especially the specials and we have introduced game dishes in the summer when available.  We are situated in the market next to the cross.  With cobbled streets, Alston was where Oliver Twist was filmed and is the highest market town in England.

When you visit the pub please let the staff know you have seen it on Pub Explorer.
