Sportsman Inn PhotoYou will find a genuine warm welcome awaits you at the Sportsman's Inn.  Set at the eastern end of Dentdale this 300 year old listed building offers accommodation in five centrally heated bedrooms, all with tea and coffee making facilities and unrivalled views of the Settle Carlisle railway and the river Dee.  Relax in front of our open fires, while sampling one of our fine hand pulled ales, or enjoy a mouth-watering snack or meal from our extensive menu, which includes a good range of vegetarian dishes.  Food here is all freshly prepared and cooked to order and curry nights which started in 2002 as a temporary measure, proved so popular, we had to keep them going!  The Inn is situated on the long distance Dales Way walk from Ilkley to Bowness and is just a few miles from the Pennine Way and the three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent.  The area around Dentdale is renowned for its caving, pot holing and the numerous green lanes and bridleways provide some of the best walking and mountain bike routes.  For those who wish to take life easy, why not enjoy a stroll around the bustling market town of Hawes, home of the famous Wensleydale cheese factory.  Just a little further afield is the striking waterfall walk in the village of Ingleton, or why not visit Askrigg, the setting for the television series "All creatures great and small".  It is no more than an hours drive to enjoy the endless possibilities of the Lake District and surrounding area.  Dogs we regret are not allowed in the public areas, and may only be brought to guests rooms by prior arrangement when booking.  The Inn is open all year round for food, accommodation and fine ales and our Bed and Breakfast tariff from March 2005 is just £24 per person per night.  We offer four nights for the price of three nights throughout the year.  Please do not hesitate to write, phone or email us for further information, we will be only too pleased to offer any help or advise to make your stay with us a memorable one.
