The Dog
& Gun is a small, attractive, old traditional pub with charm,
inside there are oak beams, flag stone floors and a real log fire.
Very popular with walkers and climbers, you will always feel
at home in this friendly public house. We offer a good selection of
beers, lagers and real ales as well as good quality home cooked pub food
available 7 days a
week. We are renown for our fabulous homemade Hungarian Goulash which
has been served daily here since it opened as a pub. It can be
enjoyed with a perfect pint of either Theakstons Old Peculier or one of
our five other ales local to the Lake District. Yates bitter, a local brew, is a speciality here along with our
homemade Hungarian Goulash. The two Guest ales are especially chosen
for being unusual. We once served a green beer! We are the home
of Keswick Mountain Rescue and Northern Air Ambulance to which we support
with our regular charity quiz night. Many of our visitors also leave
secrete money in the crevices of the pub walls to which the charities
then come and take away, we raise £2,000+ for charity each year. Do not forget this pub when visiting Keswick as you would be
sure to miss one of the Lake District's finest. |
