In
the semi rural village of Houghton Green on the outskirts of
Warrington you will find The Plough.
This a large pub which was built in 1774 and has low ceilings, exposed beams and many of the
other traditional features of a pub of this period. The decor is,
however, quite contemporary with an open plan layout. Outside there are attractive
seating and decking areas and plenty of room to enjoy the warm summer days. Featured in 'Pub
Walks of Cheshire' and the Good Beer Guide 2007', it attracts a mixture of locals and visitors of
all ages ranging from 18 to 92! Food is very popular here,
especially during the week when the meal offers are available. There is an
active bowling team which meets three times a week and we hold a
weekly quiz and live entertainment too. If you are looking for a new pub
to try, come and see us soon. There is sure to be something to suit
you in this friendly village pub.
