The Manor is
a Grade II listed building conveniently close to the M6 and
M56 interchange but in a park, surrounded by trees giving the successful
illusion of being in the centre of the countryside! Window boxes
and hanging baskets decorate the outside of this olde worlde building
which dates back to 1672 when it certainly will have been in a rural
setting! Inside there are original features such as three open
fireplaces and oak beams, with candles on the tables in the evening to
accentuate the mood. Historically
Oliver
Cromwell apparently used to drink in the pub and there are reports of a ghost
called
Rachel who committed suicide by hanging after falling for one of
Cromwell's men who was married.
Today this destination food house receives
visitors from Liverpool and Runcorn proving this to be a venue with a
difference. The food can be chosen from a main menu
or unique Specials from the chalk boards. Our chefs create fish
specials which have to be tasted. To complement your meal there is an
extensive choice of quality
wines. Alongside our
dining customers we have a good base of regular clientele, many of whom
call in for a drink with friends. The Little Manor is noted for its friendly ambience as
well as its super food so don't be too long before coming to experience
what everyone is talking about!
