Bells of Peover
is a Grade I
listed building which dates back to the mid 13th Century. It was
originally known as the Warren de Tabley Arms but was changed to the
present title in the 1890s, named after the Bell family who continued to
run it for several generations. George Bell is buried just 50
yards away in the adjoining church. We fly the Stars and Stripes
alongside the Union Jack because Eisenhower and Patton were stationed
nearby at the Hall during the war and held strategy meetings in the bar
here. They gave permission and are displayed to this day!
Matching the surrounding affluent area, this destination food house has
very much its own individual character. The low ceilings are
partly beamed, there are open fires lit in the winter months and four
distinct areas with antiques all around. Like all Chef & Brewer
pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have superb kitchen facilities.
The food can be chosen from a main menu or unique Specials from the
chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show their flair! The fresh
fish has to be tasted! You will be served meals which have been
prepared from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. To complement your
meal there is an extensive choice of quality wines or a good selection
of real ales if preferred. When you are looking for something a
little out of the ordinary then Bell of Peover will be an excellent choice.
See you very soon.
