 The Red
Lion is ideally situated by the river in the village of
Grantchester near Cambridge. This old thatched building has a
modern but traditional look. Our garden runs down to the River Cam and we get a lot of passing
visitors, including people punting up the
river. Tempting homemade food can be enjoyed in our restaurant or
bar areas and is available from a main menu or specials board, including
a range of popular mouth-watering seasonal fresh seafood and game dishes.
There is a good selection on offer with something for everyone, with
vegetarian options, a children's menu and child portions on plenty of
dishes. We have occasional live entertainment at the Red Lion which
is enjoyed by locals and visitors. During the warmer months you can
have a quiet drink in our garden or on the patio, while taking in the
tranquillity of
the river. A good place to soak up the sun while children are
kept amused on our outdoor play equipment. We offer a BBQ party
service for anyone wishing to make a group booking for BBQs and also cater for
functions of up to 60 people inside, please feel free to enquire within. The Red Lion is a trouble
free Inn, where Jo, Alan and their staff are ready to make you feel most welcome.
