 Situated
on the outskirts of the village of Shabbington, close to Thame and the
M40, The Old Fisherman is in a
beautiful, picturesque and quiet location on the banks of a tributary
of the river Thame. Within easy travelling distance are
Aylesbury, Bicester and Oxford. The pub, themed on fishing, has
been recently extended and refurbished to a very high standard and
the low ceilings, beams and general ambience all create a relaxing and
peaceful, yet interesting, atmosphere in which to snack, dine or just have
a drink. The main
dining room seats around 50, a smaller dining room about 20 and
the large comfortable bar seats around 70. A superb fresh,
home-cooked food menu is available throughout. The grounds
contain large car parks and an extensive garden, with children's
playground attractions and ample seating leading down to the
stream. Food may be enjoyed every lunchtime and
evening from our menu. We have a superb basket menu available
outside, weather permitting. Quality,
award winning beers are supplied by Greene King. Wine lovers may wish to peruse our excellent wine list or try
superb wines by the glass. We would be delighted to discuss larger
party bookings of over 15 people for times outside our normal opening
hours. Everyone at the Old Fisherman looks forward to giving you a
warm welcome.
