The Swan Inn is
set in the lovely village of Newtown, just off the A339 road, with Newbury
only one mile away. Built in 1152 our pub is of traditional decor
to create a typical English pub atmosphere with flag stone flooring and
three open fires which are lit in
the winter months. The new part of the pub complements the
original building offering a more contemporary environment. Our beer garden and patio
have plenty
of seating with a fire pit being lit on the patio area on cooler nights.
Newbury Race Course is just 1 ½ miles from us so we are the perfect choice for dining and
having a drink before heading off to the course or on your return. We are
also only two mile off the A34 going down to
Bournemouth and Weymouth so we are a good half way stop off point to refresh
yourself on the journey. We are within walking distance of Newtown and Greenham
Common's so welcome many walkers. You can relax and dine anywhere
throughout
the pub and we even arrange up to 18 people on a table for larger groups. Families are
most welcome and we provide high chairs. We serve top quality food with a
warm, friendly welcome and service so why not come and try the Swan Inn soon.
