The Shire Horse is an attractive old pub in Littlewick Green,
just outside Maidenhead on the road towards Reading, seven miles from
Windsor. Originally a Coaching Inn known as the Coach and Horses, it has
retained much of its character with traditional low beamed ceilings, two
fireplaces, nooks and crannies to hide away in and low lighting. Candles
on the tables complete the relaxed ambience. The Shire Horse has is a good base of regular clientele and people
coming from much further afield. Comments from customers talk of the
lovely, cosy and warm atmosphere, helpful staff and, most importantly, the
quality food provided.
Like all Chef & Brewer pubs we employ high quality Chefs who have
superb kitchen facilities. The food can be chosen from a main menu
or unique Specials from the chalk boards which allow our Chefs to show
their flair! You will be served meals which have been prepared
from the freshest of ingredients and cooked to order. Fresh fish dishes are
our speciality. To complement your meal there is an
extensive choice of quality wines or real ales and other drinks are available at the bar. Outside there is a large garden where you can
dine al fresco and the place is a picture in the summer with hanging baskets,
window boxes and flowers on display. Come along soon to this charming pub
and taste something quite special.
