 Situated in Shinfield village on the outskirts of Reading The
Black Boy on a local bus route, with easy access from the
M4. Easily found we are a bit of a local landmark, just off the
Black Boy Roundabout, which was named after the pub. An old stone building,
fully refurbished to a high standard in April 2008, you will be greeted by a friendly
team in comfortable, modern surroundings. Our bar area has an open
fire and sofas to relax alone or with friends. The dining area,
also has a contemporary feel with 75 covers. You can dine
throughout the venue, with Mike & Claire now offering delicious homecooked food daily, from a regularly changing modern British style
menu. All our food is freshly prepared in-house using seasonal
produce, which is sourced locally where ever possible. We are an
ideal venue for functions such as weddings, christenings, funerals or
birthday parties where we can cater for up to 75 people. The welcoming
team will be happy to see you anytime.
