£200,000 refurbishment on 7th April 2008 with a brand new Thai
Restaurant with a contemporary, Thai themed look. We have even
thought about the little touches, with fresh orchids decorating the

 The
Bear & Dragon, formerly known as The Bear, is situated in the pleasant rural residential area of
Tilehurst. Built in the 1938'ss it re-opened following a £200,000
refurbishment in April 2008 with a brand new Thai Restaurant. There
is a fantastic new
contemporary look, Thai themed with little touches such as fresh orchids decorating the tables.
The bar area is more of a traditional English style. You
must come along and see the changes for yourself. We have a good
locals following of regulars and a fair amount of passing
trade. Trolley buses used to run close by but these have been replaced by
buses, making us an easily accessible point on the way into Reading. The mixed crowd
covers the complete age spectrum with everyone made to feel at home in this
relaxed, trouble free venue. Come along soon and try the Bear & Dragon out for a
quality Thai meal or a drink with friends in the bar. You will be given a sociable welcome by
our friendly team.
