The Bacon Arms is a 17th Century Inn with an intriguing history dating back to the Civil War.  A homely atmosphere and a wealth of character awaits you with many original features and 13 en-suite rooms, including some with four poster beds.  Located in the heart of the ancient town of Newbury, close to the A34 and M4, there are many beautiful and historic places to visit close by such as Highclere, Donnington Castle, the race course and the famous Corn Exchange Theatre.  Food is served all day with a sumptuous choice of snacks, a specials board and main menu.  Meals can be enjoyed either in the main bar or restaurant.  Our accommodation includes a range of rooms, all furnished to a high standard and offering visitors a very comfortable nights stay.  Whatever your reason for visiting the Bacon Arms, you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome from our helpful team.

Most people want to browse around Newbury itself with the famous Corn Exchange Theatre in the Market Place, the Newbury Museum and, of course, the popular Race Course which plays host to racing and other events virtually every month.  Donnington is a great day out and must include a visit to the Watermill Theatre and Donnington Castle.
